Senior Leadership Team

Associate Head of School

Seth Low P'26 '28

Seth is Associate Head of School. In this role, Seth is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school and ensuring collaboration, integration, and alignment with the school's mission and values. He heads the school’s internal leadership development program and holds a Leadership and Performance Coaching Certificate from the Brown University School of Professional Studies. He also leads the Faculty Success Team, the Enterprise Risk Management  Team, and Campus Life Team, and is a member of the Student Success Team.

Seth grew up as a faculty child at Blair Academy, where his father, David Low, Sr. GP’26 ’28, was the Dean of Students and then Assistant Head for Student Life for 32 years. From this, Seth has brought to Gunn deep appreciation for the community gathering that boarding schools promote — for students, adults, and families. After graduating from Blair, Seth earned a bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a master’s degree from Wesleyan University. Prior to joining Gunn, he spent five years working as a geologist at an environmental engineering and consulting firm outside of Boston.

He began his career at Gunn in 2004 as a full-time teacher and coach, and has maintained both roles across more than two decades. He has taught math, environmental science, and citizenship classes and coached football, soccer, basketball, hockey, and lacrosse. He has served as a College Counselor and Director of College Counseling, and in 2014 was named Assistant Head of School and Director of Co-Curriculars. He continues to teach in the Center for Citizenship and Just Democracy, and serves as Assistant Coach for Boys Varsity Lacrosse, and as an advisor and Administrator of the Day. The evening celebration before School Walk is his favorite school tradition, and each year, he sends students and faculty off on their eight-mile hike through Steep Rock with a reading about our school founder, Frederick Gunn, with whom he shares a deep appreciation for nature.

Since 2012, Seth has served as a member of the Washington Volunteer Fire Department. He and his wife, Anne, live on campus and are the proud parents of two Highlanders.

Associate Head of School for Strategy & Finance

Doug Day

Doug is Associate Head of School for Strategy & Finance. In this role, Doug serves as the school’s Chief Financial Officer. He oversees the Business Office, and provides high-level leadership for the Facilities, Information Technology, Safety & Security, and Marketing & Communications teams. As the school’s project manager, he represents Gunn’s interests throughout the planning and construction of new facilities, including the Thomas S. Perakos Family Cares Health and Wellness Center, opening in the fall of 2026. He works closely with Dr. Emily Raudenbush Gum, Bretter Family Head of School, on special projects and initiatives, which have included Gunn’s historic 175th anniversary celebration and the transformational Campaign for The Frederick Gunn School.

Doug joined The Frederick Gunn School in 2018, following a successful 16-year career in the investment management field. He began his finance career at Salomon Brothers in New York and spent six years at American Century Investments in Kansas City as an analyst and portfolio manager. He had the distinction of becoming the youngest portfolio manager to join Moore Capital Management in New York, and went on to successfully launch his own investment management firm with a partner in 2008.

At Gunn, Doug has served as Director of Marketing & Communications, Chief of Enrollment Strategy & Marketing, Chief Strategy Officer, and Assistant Head of School for Strategy & Engagement. He worked closely with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees to lead Gunn’s rebranding — beginning with the historic renaming of the school in 2020 to honor the vision and ideals of our founder — and in partnership with the Admissions Office, he has helped to drive record enrollment at the school over the past eight years.

Prior to joining Gunn, Doug served as president and treasurer of the Washington Park Foundation, where he led fundraising efforts and the development of The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at Washington Montessori School, and served as treasurer and on the Finance, Audit, and Development committees.

A graduate of The Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Doug holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Emory University. He and his wife, Suzanne Day, who is the Chief Enrollment Officer at Gunn, have two children. They live on campus.

Katie Fleishman

Katie Fleishman, Ph.D., is the Assistant Head of School for Academics. In this role, Dr. Fleishman provides oversight for the Academic Office, the College Counseling Office, the Center for Academic Excellence, and the school's department chairs. She hopes to continue to grow a deep culture of educational excellence at Gunn in a way that expands the variety and challenge of the curriculum and surfaces in the daily teaching and learning practices of the community. Additionally, she teaches AP Literature & Composition and serves as a house parent.

Across her career, Dr. Fleishman has taught and coached at The Hotchkiss School, The Pennington School, and The Archer School for Girls. She earned her Ph.D. in English and in film and media studies from the University of California, Berkeley, where she also designed and taught English courses to undergraduates. Prior to completing her doctorate, Dr. Fleishman received a bachelor’s degree in English and Italian from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s in English from University College London. Her essays have appeared in various popular and peer-reviewed publications. She lives on campus with her husband and their two children.

Assistant Head of School for Student Life & Wellness

Ashley LeBlanc

Ashley has served as Assistant Head of School for Student Life and Wellness since 2025. In this role, Ashley provides leadership over all aspects of the school’s Student Life programs and the Health Center. She was instrumental in the planning of the new Thomas S. Perakos Family Cares Health and Wellness Center, opening in October 2026, along with the creation of a new Wellness Lobby and the redesign of the Dean of Students Offices. She is also an advisor, coach, an Administrator of the Day, a member of the Student Success Team, and the International Student Support Team.

Ashley joined the school in 2020 as Dean of Students. She introduced the One Trusted Adult program, which helps students learn to identify the qualities that define trusted adults in their lives, and learn to connect with trusted adults, typically their advisor on campus. She also championed opportunities for students to spend time outdoors, particularly through Mountain Day, a new midwinter tradition. She served as Head Coach for Varsity Field Hockey for five seasons, during which time the team consistently earned NEPSAC playoff berths and beat Canterbury on Canterbury Day. In her new role, Ashley continues to work closely with the Dean of Students Office, promoting the school’s residential life culture, strengthening the sense of community on campus, elevating the student voice, and continuing to support students holistically as they navigate their young adult years.

Originally from Simsbury, Connecticut, Ashley graduated from Saint Michael’s College, where she double majored in English and secondary education and earned recognition as an All-American on the Women's Field Hockey team. Prior to joining Gunn, she coached field hockey at Stonehill College and spent 12 years at Hebron Academy in Maine, where she taught English and served as Head Coach for Varsity Field Hockey, Dean of Students, and a dormitory head. Ashley lives on campus with her husband, James, and their sons, as well as their black Lab, Hattie. She is an avid telemark and alpine skier and keeps her horse, Phynn, local to campus.

Chief Education Officer

Dr. Jack Fuller

Jack Fuller, D.Phil, is our Chief Education Officer. In this role, Dr. Fuller is focused on collaborating across Gunn to clarify and advance the school’s vision for education, oriented around whole-person growth and the development of character. The goal is to carry forward Frederick and Abigail Gunn’s founding ideals into their next chapter today, particularly given the extraordinary challenge of AI and the changing world of work — grounded in the love, inspiration, and hope that is at the core of why humans do education at all.

Raised in England and Australia, Dr. Fuller studied neuroscience at the University of Melbourne before attending the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, where he completed an M.Phil. and D.Phil. in theology (ethics). In college, he played soccer, tennis, and squash, rowed, and was engaged in activities from debate to hiking and camping to theatre. He later completed a Master of Education in counseling and human development and is a licensed therapist. He previously tutored students at Trinity College at the University of Melbourne and led courses on philosophy and emotional life at The School of Life in London. He also spent four years as Junior Dean at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, supporting students in academic and residential life. He worked as a project leader at Boston Consulting Group in New York, and earlier at the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet on a project exploring character and virtue.

Prior to joining Gunn, he founded Toolbox Health, a healthcare and therapy company integrating insights from psychology and the humanities to support well-being and growth. Dr. Fuller is the co-author of The Imagination Machine (Harvard Business Review Press, 2021), and was the guest philosopher on Channel 4’s "Sunday Brunch" in the UK. He and his wife, Sarah, live off campus with their black-and-white cat, Isabel.

Chief Enrollment Officer

Suzanne Day

Suzanne has served as Chief Enrollment Officer at Gunn since 2022. In this role, Suzanne works closely with a dedicated team of Admissions Officers and Admissions Assistants to attract, interview, and selectively enroll new Highlanders each school year. Under her leadership, The Frederick Gunn School has achieved the strongest enrollment in its history — not just for one year, but year after year. The 2026-27 school year began with record enrollment of nearly 350 students, including students from over 20 states and about 20 countries. Applications grew by more than 60 percent over the past five years, and the school achieved gender parity for the first time in its history in 2024-25. Gunn is also ranked in the top 3% of private high schools in America, according to Niche. All of this adds up to Gunn becoming “a hot school,” a well-earned label that Suzanne happily shares with students, faculty, and families.

Suzanne joined Gunn in 2015 as Associate Director of Admissions. She served as Senior Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid from 2016 until 2021, when she was named Interim Director of Admissions. As a senior leader of the admissions team, she helped to strengthen Gunn’s reputation among prospective families, feeder schools, and consultants — with the school’s historic name change and in the face of a global pandemic. She also serves as an advisor and a member of the Student Success Team.

During Suzanne’s tenure, the Admissions Office has made Gunn accessible to both international students in their home countries, and to those who would not otherwise be able to experience a Frederick Gunn School education. The Admissions Office is the first point of contact for students and families, and Suzanne and her team help to ease the transition to boarding school for both through the Highlander Summer Connections program. Admissions events held throughout the year provide opportunities for prospective students and families to connect with the school across New England and other parts of the United States, as well as across the globe.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Suzanne holds a doctorate in pharmacy. Prior to working in schools, she was an oncology clinical pharmacist, specializing in bone marrow transplantation. Prior to joining Gunn, she was the Director of Admissions for West Side Montessori School in New York City. She is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Washington Montessori School and previously served on the board of the Washington Scholarship Fund. Suzanne and her husband, Doug, who is Associate Head of School for Strategy & Finance, have two children and two black Labs. They live on campus.

Chief Advancement Officer

Matt Goetting

Matthew Goetting is the Chief Advancement Officer at The Frederick Gunn School. In this role, Matt oversees the Alumni and Development Office and leads the school’s efforts to cultivate relationships with alumni, parents, and community members to enhance Gunn’s fundraising initiatives and deepen engagement with the school community.

Prior to joining Gunn, Matt served for over four years as Associate Head of School at St. Anne’s Episcopal School in Middletown, Delaware, where he was responsible for the oversight of educational programs, development, admissions, and communications. Immediately prior to that, he served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the Maine College of Art & Design. He brings extensive leadership and development experience from both the independent school and higher education worlds after starting his career in management consulting.

Raised in Columbus, Ohio, and the Philadelphia suburbs, Matt earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University, where he majored in sociology and anthropology and played baseball, and a master's in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. He also completed the Tuck Leadership and Strategic Impact Program at Dartmouth College. He and his wife, Karen, and their son live off campus.
