Twice a week, our academic schedule sets aside a dedicated block of time for every student to meet with their teachers. At Gunn, we see Highlander Advocate as a chance for students to take ownership of their learning, whether that means connecting about a challenging assignment or planning ahead for a busy week. More than that, it's where students build the executive functioning skills that will serve them long after they leave Gunn. It's another expression of what a small boarding school does best: knowing every student, and making sure every student is supported.
