Highlander Advocate
built in time for extra support.
Highlander Advocate is intentionally built into our academic schedule two times per week offering every student extra time to meet with teachers. At Gunn, we see this as a moment for students to take ownership of their individual learning process and an opportunity for them to advocate for extra support when they are feeling a bit behind or looking ahead at what seems to be an unusually busy week. We believe this structure is a step towards building executive functioning skills that will not only help a student in their time with us, but will establish the foundations of carrying this forward into the rest of life. Consider this another example of the small boarding school proposition where all students are known and all students are supported.
