FLIGHT SCHOOL: THE SCIENCE AND SPIRIT OF AVIATION
Join an immersive program that invites you to explore the art, science and history of flight. Students train on a flight simulator, mastering the basics of takeoff, navigation, and landing as they prepare for their first real flight. Members of this class will sit alongside a licensed pilot, where you will sit in the cockpit and take the controls for yourself. Beyond the hands-on excitement, you will explore aviation’s rich history during a visit to the New England Air Museum, examining how innovation and imagination have shaped both civil and military flight. For your final project, you will apply what you have learned by creating a flight plan for a trip between two airports, combining science, math, and problem-solving into one cohesive mission. By the end of the course, you’ll have not only flown a plane, but also discovered what it means to think like a pilot: curious, prepared, and ready to soar into the unknown.
