Gunn Summer Field Hockey Clinic Series

Elevate your game this August! Whether your child is picking up a stick for the very first time or preparing to dominate their upcoming school season, this two-day clinic is designed to deliver skill development and a passion for the game. Led by Athletic Director and Head Field Hockey Coach Colleen Fink, who brings over 25 years of elite experience — including a highly successful tenure as a Division I Head Coach in the Ivy League — offering players a premier opportunity to train under world-class, high-performance coaching.

5-6:30 p.m. (5-10 year olds)
6:30-8:15 p.m. (11-16 year olds)

Youth
Fundamentals
Clinic

  • Ages: 5–10
  • Time: 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Focus: Fun, Fundamentals, and Friendship

This fun and supportive session teaches younger beginners basic skills — like stick handling, passing, and receiving — through high-energy drills and games. It’s a fantastic, low-pressure environment to build confidence and stay active.

Advanced Skills & Preseason Prep Clinic

  • Ages: 11–16
  • Time: 6:30-8:15 p.m.
  • Focus: High-Level Technique, Tactics, and Small Game Play

Ready to take your game to the next level? This session is tailored for older players looking for a competitive edge ahead of their fall seasons. Led by Coach Fink’s Division I expertise, this clinic will challenge players both physically and mentally.

What to expect

  • Technical Mastery: Advanced stickwork, elimination skills, and shooting.
  • Tactical Decision-Making: Vision, positioning, and spatial awareness taught through fast-paced, small-game scenarios.
  • Preseason Conditioning: High-tempo drills that will push your work ethic and ensure you arrive at tryouts in peak game shape.

Gear Reminder: All players must bring a field hockey stick, mouthguard, shin guards, and a water bottle. Cleats or turf shoes are recommended for the turf field.

We are thrilled to introduce Clinic Director Colleen Fink, The Frederick Gunn School's Athletic Director and newly appointed Head Field Hockey Coach for the Fall 2026 season.

Coach Fink joins the Gunn community after a highly successful tenure as Head Field Hockey Coach at the University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League). With over 25 years of experience directing athletes at all levels from USAFH high-performance Field Hockey training camps to grassroots youth recreational programs, Coach Fink has coached and played at the highest levels of the sport. She is excited to bring her elite expertise to the local community, inspiring the next generation of players and sharing her deep love for the game.
