Whether you are a high performing athlete or a beginner, this is where you can master new skills, discover new passions, and contribute to the tradition of being a Highlander, in and out of competition.

Our Mascot

The Highlander is BOLD. THE HIGHLANDER IS US.

For centuries in Scotland, the Highland cow has stood as more than a striking figure on the hillsides. It represents quiet strength, steady determination, and an unrelenting spirit — all carried with a friendly, intelligent, and approachable nature. Deeply tied to the land, Highlanders thrive in rugged conditions and embody endurance, character, and resilience. In many ways, this noble and iconic creature mirrors the very spirit of our own community, and the values we aim to inspire in our students.

The Highlander has been embraced by the community as a symbol of Gunn pride from the moment our new mascot was revealed in November 2025, and we learned his name (determined by popular vote) was Scottie! The student-led spirit group, affectionately known as The FERD (Fred's Herd), has carried that momentum forward, cheering fiercely alongside Scottie at games, pep rallies, and events throughout the year — they are the true embodiment of what it means to be a Highlander.
