Team Overview
The Frederick Gunn School is built upon a tradition honoring the four cornerstones of character: scholarship, integrity, respect, and responsibility. As a coaching staff we work tirelessly throughout the year to instill these values in our players. Our goal is to develop young men of character who will become leaders in the community, outstanding students, and exceptional lacrosse players. Gunn has built a strong lacrosse tradition in which our players strive for both academic and athletic excellence and understand that there is a direct relationship between successes in both areas.

Meet the Coaches

Assistant CoachBlake Hollinger joined The Frederick Gunn School in 2022 as Associate Director of Admissions. A graduate of Salisbury School, Blake holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Hamilton College, where he was captain of the Men's Lacrosse Team in his senior year. He earned a master's degree in organizational leadership from Shenandoah University's School of Education. Prior to joining Gunn, Blake was in charge of Upper School Admissions and coached varsity football and lacrosse at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. At Gunn, he is the Assistant Coach for Boys Varsity Lacrosse.

Head CoachA Long Island, New York native, Mike played lacrosse and basketball in high school and went on to play four years of lacrosse at Hofstra for John Danowski where he received a BBA. He has remained actively involved in sports since graduation, coaching in a variety of sports at all levels in Manhattan, NY, Westchester, NY, and locally here in Connecticut for 3d Lacrosse. At The Frederick Gunn School, Mike is the Director of Athletics and is the Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach. He lives in Bebe House with his wife Kiersten, his son and his daughter.

Assistant CoachConnor Mooney joined The Frederick Gunn School in 2023 as Assistant Coach for Boys Varsity Lacrosse. Connor graduated from Avon Old Farms School, earning U.S. Lacrosse All-American honors in his senior year. He went on to play four years of Division I Lacrosse at The University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he was a captain of the men’s lacrosse team his senior year and earned a place in the USILA North-South All-Star Game, and was awarded USILA Scholar All-America honors.Prior to joining the Gunn community, Connor coached at Western New England University, the Williston Northampton School, and 3d New England South Lacrosse.
