Girls Varsity Soccer
Welcome to FGS Girls Soccer program! FGS is a member of the New England Prep School Association. Within NEPSAC, FGS is classified in the “C” Division, as a school with an enrollment of under 120 girls. The team plays a competitive schedule with opponents including The Canterbury School, Millbrook School, The Ethel Walker School, Suffield Academy, St. Luke’s School, Hopkins School, and Westover School, among others.
Head CoachEmily Abelson graduated from Emmanuel College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Emily was a member of the women’s soccer and lacrosse teams at Emmanuel. She has worked in the admissions offices of Emmanuel College, Syracuse University and Georgetown University. In addition to her role as Associate Director of Admissions at The Frederick Gunn School, she is also an International Student Coordinator, International Admissions Counselor, Head Girls Soccer Coach, Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach, Advisor, and a dorm parent in Browne dorm. During the summers, she coaches middle school girls lacrosse with LC River, 3D Lacrosse. In her free time, Emily is pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree from The Kogod School of Business at American University. She lives on campus, is an avid runner, reader and loves cooking.

Alisa teaches mathematics, serves as Department Chair and coaches both soccer and softball. An enthusiastic athlete, she enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and softball. Alisa enjoys Red Sox games at Fenway Park, travel to new places, and spending time with her family. She lives on campus in Graham House with her husband Michael and their son, Jonathan. You might see Jonathan and Alisa playing baseball at the front gate each morning, while waiting for the school bus!
