Alisa teaches mathematics, serves as Mathematics Department Chair, and coaches both Girls Varsity Soccer and Varsity Softball. She has coached girls soccer for 21 years at Gunn, and is excited to watch a JV program develop for young athletes. Alisa was named the holder of the Tisch Chair for Excellence in Teaching from 2012-2015, and received the Class of ’55 Distinguished Teacher Award in 2008. She enjoys Red Sox games at Fenway Park, traveling to new places, and spending time with her family. A graduate of UConn, she also loves to support the Huskies in various sporting events! She lives on campus in Graham House with her husband, Michael, and their son, Jonathan.
Jessica Lyon has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Western Connecticut State University. She studied in Spain and Nicaragua, where she also taught elementary school for a summer, and she previously taught Spanish at a private therapeutic boarding school. She is the World Languages Department Chair at The Frederick Gunn School, teaches Spanish and coaches boys soccer and baseball. She lives in New Milford with her husband, Dave, son, Justin, and dogs, Jack and Stella, and enjoys trying new recipes, hiking and playing recreational softball. She also has completed three Ragnar Relay Series® races.
