Gunn will face #1 seed The Rivers School in the 2024 NEPSAC Boys Ice Hockey Tournament Semifinals this Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts.

The winners of Saturday's semifinal matchups will advance to the New England Championship Finals, which will be played on Sunday, March 3, at noon at Harvard University.
Gunn, the #4 seed in the Piatell/Simmons Tournament Bracket, beat #5 seed Groton School 3-1 in the NEPSAC Quarterfinal at home on February 28. Groton scored the first goal of the contest at the top of the second period, and Gunn answered minutes later with its first goal. The score remained tied 1-1 until the third period, when the Highlanders scored twice more for the Quarterfinal win.
The Highlanders finished their regular season strong, recording five wins and one tie in their last seven games. Gunn also beat Avon Old Farms, winner of the 2023 Stuart/Corkery Elite 8 Tournament, 4-3 on February 7. "They've had a good season," said Athletic Director Mike Marich P’23 ’24. "There's been some highs, there's been some lows, but in the end, they were solid."
On February 28, students, faculty, family, and friends cheered on the Highlanders in back-to-back playoff games at Linen Rink. In the second matchup of the day, Gunn Girls Varsity Hockey, the #3 seed, fought hard against #5 seed The Rivers School in the NEPSAC Girls Ice Hockey Tournament Dorothy Howard (Small) Bracket Quarterfinal. Gunn was the first to score at the top of the first period, and took an early lead against Rivers with a score of 3-0. The Red Wings came back and recorded two goals in the second period. Then, with less than two minutes left in the game, Rivers tied it 3-3, and brought the score to 4-3 in overtime.
