Friends, family, and the community are invited to attend, A Chamber Concert: An Eclectic Mix of Music Solos & Small Ensembles, on Sunday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Tisch Family Auditorium of the Thomas S. Perakos Arts and Community Center. Registration is not required and admission is free.
The concert will feature a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, with songs by Chopin, Schubert, Mozart, Dolly Parton, and Adele. “You will hear all levels of musicians, from students who are just beginning their musical journey all the way up to students who are all-state level musicians with multiple years of experience,” said Ron Castonguay, Director of the Arts and Music Director.
This year, 16 students from the Gunn Music Program were selected to perform through in-class auditions and assessments. The soloists and ensembles will be accompanied by three members of the Gunn adjunct music faculty, including Sarah Fay and Oksana Protenic on piano, and Adam Eytan on guitar.
"It takes a lot of courage to stand up on this stage and perform in front of peers, family, and friends. I am so proud of these young musicians and the progress they have made," Castonguay said.
