The Frederick Gunn School Music Program will present, “A Chamber Concert: An Eclectic Mix of Music Solos & Small Ensembles,” at 7 p.m. on April 28 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 78 Green Hill Road, Washington. Admission is free.
Students will perform a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, with a program that includes works by Brahms, Haydn, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Édith Piaf, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Gerald Marks.
Students were selected to perform through in-class auditions and assessments and represent the school’s String Ensemble, Voice Ensemble (Chorus), and Jazz Band. They will be accompanied by adjunct music instructors Sarah Fay and Oksana Protenic.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to Tom Brand, the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey M. Hahneman, and the staff of St. John's Episcopal Church for graciously hosting our concert. It's an honor to collaborate with our neighbors in this exquisite venue,” said Ron Castonguay P’27, Director of the Arts and Music Director. "I am so proud of these young musicians and the progress they have made."
