On May 21, the College Counseling Office hosted a signing ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of nine standout student-athletes, who have commitments to study and play sports at colleges and universities in the fall. The students represented six different varsity teams in three sports at Gunn and were supported by their families, coaches, and peers, who wished them continued success in their academic and athletic endeavors.

Athletic Director Mike Marich P’23 ’24, who is also Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Gunn, and President of NEPSAC District IV, requested a giant round of applause for the parents of the student-athletes. “It’s the early morning practices, the sacrifices, weekend tournaments, all of those different types of things, and then just countless hours cheering. Your support is a big reason why your student is here today,” he told them.

To the students, Marich said: “This is a significant milestone in your journey as you prepare to embark on the next step. As you put pen to paper, I hope that this signing day is just a stepping stone in your journey toward a future filled with success, memories, and great experiences. Your hard work, your dedication, and your unwavering passion for your craft brought you to this well-deserved moment. It’s a testament to everything that you and your family has done and we’re proud of each and every one of you. I wish you nothing but success in your career and your next steps. Congratulations on your achievement.”
