Each year, ASAP! invites students in grades 6-12 from across the state to submit photographs for this exhibit. The top 60 photographs are selected by a panel of professional photographers and the top four photographers are recognized with awards for their outstanding work. The theme of this year’s event is Transformation.

According to ASAP: “Transformation means change or renewal. We see transformation all around us. For example, a raspberry turns quickly to mold on a hot day, while a civilization transforms slowly as people invent and share ideas. Transformation also happens in our minds and bodies when we learn new things or talk with friends. It happens to a caterpillar that becomes a butterfly. How is transformation happening in your life today? How can you represent that change through a photograph?”

If you can’t make it to this year’s Celebration of Young Photographers, you can view photographs from the exhibit via Instagram @youngphotographers_asap.
