Theatre Program Earns 15 Halo Award Nominations

2023 Halo Award Nominations

Congratulations to the cast and designers of the fall play, Men On Boats, and the winter musical, Head Over Heels, who together have been nominated for a total of 15 Halo Awards, including Best Performance by a Cast in an Ensemble Production, Best Contemporary Play, Best Contemporary Musical, and The Fearless Award.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Halo Awards, which are hosted by Seven Angels Theatre and celebrate the best in Connecticut High School Theatre. This year’s nominees were selected from productions by more than 88 participating high schools. The awards will be presented at red carpet events on May 30, May 31, and June 1 at the historic Palace Theatre in Waterbury. The Frederick Gunn School’s nominees will attend the awards ceremony on May 30 at 7 p.m. Audrey Richards ’23 and Holli Hay ’23 will perform “Automatic Rainy Day,” by the Go-Gos, from Head Over Heels at the event.

“This is incredibly exciting for the students, the theatre program, and the school,” said Kent Burnham,  Director of Theatre Arts. “I'm proud of everyone and excited to see what we continue to build, develop, and produce with the Theatre Program at The Frederick Gunn School!
