Dear Frederick Gunn School Families,

We are writing to you in response to the modifications that have been made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in regards to their policies surrounding international travel and quarantine to the United States.

In compliance with the State of Connecticut, our protocols require that all international students and students from travel restricted states, need to plan on completing their 14 day required quarantine before returning to campus. This quarantine needs to occur in the United States, and in a state not on Connecticut's Restricted Travel list.

With this in mind, we will need to confirm your quarantine plans with us. To do so, please login to HighlanderNation and you will find a form labeled “Quarantine Plan Confirmation” in the yellow toolbar at the top of your screen.

We understand that this can be challenging for families and we are hopeful that you are able to arrange a stay in a non-restricted state for 14 days prior to your student arriving on campus. We are unable to house students on campus for quarantine purposes.

If your student is not able to arrive on campus the week of September 8, they will be able to participate in all activities and classes remotely until they can arrive safely on campus. We have put plans in place to support and fully integrate our remote students, as the requirements for international students and families traveling from states listed on the State of Connecticut’s travel advisory list continue to fluctuate.

Again, we will be in touch with you should the State of Connecticut and CDC modify their recommendations, as it affects your family and the other community members. Please continue to reach out to us, and again, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these state and federal recommendations.
